I accidentally put a very small amount of dog Biospot on our wonderful, pregnant cat - Snickerdoodle. Within a very short time we found her hiding under a coffee table...having grand mal seizures. She was shaking severely and had lost all bowel and bladder control. We immediately tried to wash all the Biospot off of her, but that did not help either.
The next two hours were a nightmare. She was in a continuous state of seizures. I just held her and tried everything to calm the seizures. She was bleeding severely from the mouth as the seizures continued non-stop. From time to time she would cry out as if in pain. Only later did I see that the box said - in small print - not to use on cats. It did not say that seizures and death was a possibility.
We called the vet and realized shortly that there was nothing they could do either, so we took her out to a friend's country home and 'put her down' to end her horrible nightmare. She was only 4 years old and was due to have a beautiful calico litter in about two weeks.
I am sick about it. I feel so guilty. I do not know how I am going to tell my 19 year old daughter who is away at school that her beloved little one died today from a violent death due to Biospot.
